circus for the young and young at heart

When we were kids, we couldn't wait to move. We jumped on the trampoline all day, climbed trees, and swung on the swings until adults told us to stop.
We didn't do it because it was good for us, but because moving brought us sheer delight. In motion was how we were most ourselves, present and connected.
At CirQuest, we train circus because it feels like that again. Circus makes us happy.

Circus 101
Find the thing that makes your heart sing at CirQuest! This class is an adults' playground, with expert circus teachers to guide you to explore all the different circus arts with care and technical skill. Now on Friday early evenings, it's a great way to end the week!
Fridays 6.00-7.00pm

Prepare for Launch: Aerials for absolute beginners
This class is perfect for absolute beginners who would like to try circus aerials (trapeze, silks, hammock, rope and lyra) but don't yet have the strength, flexibility or foundation skills.
THAT'S OK! Nobody does unless they are not beginners! It's ok to be a beginner. You're ready to begin.
Thursdays 6.00-7.00pm

Take Flight: Aerials Basics
Taking to the air is an exhilarating way of building fitness, endurance, core and upper body strength, and when you train with our teachers who were once adult beginners themselves, you'll notice rapid progress.
We recommend that absolute beginners do our Prepare for Launch class first. Take Flight might be suitable for novice aerialists if you do gymnastics, rock-climbing, or have done circus in the past and are getting back into it.
Tuedays 6.00-7.00pm

Upside Down is the New Right Way Up!
In term 3 this class is now integrated into Mobility and Agility PLUS handstands.
Handstands are a foundation skill for lots of circus disciplines, and at the highest level, hand-balancing is a thrilling performance act. Handstand training builds upper body and core strength, and is a fantastic compliment to all other forms of circus training.
Mondays 6.00-7.30pm

Peoplestacking (adults acrobalance)
You know what's more fun than lifting weights? Lifting people!
Suitable for beginners to advanced, this class includes skills that are variously called L-basing or acro-yoga, as well as standing acrobatics, and if you're working on some seriously hard-core skills, our lunge lines and safety belts will help you get there!
Wednesdays 5.00-6.00pm

Somersaults. flips and other nimbleness
Suitable for beginners (stumblers) and experienced tumblers alike, this class is one of our most popular. You'll definitely extend yourself, and with our expert teacher, Natalia, and all our fantastic equipment, you will progress at a safe, sustainable pace.
Wednesdays 6.00-7.30pm

Mobility and Agility PLUS handstands
This class is something unlike anything you've done before. Through movement you will build physical capacity including strength, range of motion and ease of movement. This is an excellent conditioning and injury prevention program for safe, sustainable practice for people of all levels of circus training experience.
For those wanting to start handstand training, handstands are now part of this combined class. If you're not quite ready for that, don't worry, Jenna will have some different activities for you.
Mondays 6.00-7.30pm

Get bendy
Flexibility is a huge factor, not just for range of motion but also strength and postural integrity. Whether you would like to have increased flexibility for sustainable practice and body balance, or would like to be a contortionist and make people go "ewww!", Natalia will help you work toward your goals.
Wednesdays 7.30-9.00pm
