Classes for little people

Discover exciting opportunities for young children to explore what their bodies can do, express themselves and connect with friends!

Designed by occupational therapist, Isobel Lyall, our early childhood classes are an excellent first step on the way to formal education.  Not only do our classes promote gross motor, fine motor and self-regulation skills, but also build children's pretend play abilities, which are linked to the development of language and literacy.

Our classes are delightful for parents and grandparents too, as we invite you to join in the fun, coach and model for your child, and to enjoy the rich relationships that develop between the children, caregivers and our nurturing teachers.

 We've moved!

Our new HQ is at 50 Goodwood Parade, Burswood.

Term 2 started April 25, but you can still join!

Our booking process has changed to make it more flexible and easy to use.  There are two booking and payment options:

Drop-in classes: Just book in for any class, and pay at the time you book.

Pre-paid term pass:  Purchase a 10-class pass and save 10%, and then proceed to booking.  You can either book your classes one at a time, or you can make a repeat booking to book for the same class each week for 10 weeks.

Either way you choose to book and pay, you can change or cancel your booking any time.  If you change your booking more than 48 hours before the class starts, you will receive a full refund of the class fee as a credit to use for future bookings.

Before you can purchase a pre-paid term class, you need to become a member. Membership fees assist us with our insurance costs, and also every new member receives a fantastic welcome pack including a free t-shirt!  If you're not a member yet, click here to join (and then you can go ahead and book for the term).

IT"S BACK! Mums and Bubs Pilates and Playtime starts May 5

Something for you and something for the little ones at the same time!  Pilates and circus teacher Dawn Pascoe teaches mat exercises specifically designed for mums to develop core strength, pelvic floor stability, and reunion of abdominal muscles, so that you can protect your back, recover from the huge changes that happen during pregnancy and birth, and be stronger than ever.  Meanwhile, early childhood expert and occupational therapist Isobel Lyall will keep the little ones busy with active play and movement activities, followed by fine motor play activities.  Because it's all in the same room, kids can come to you for comfort, feeding, or just a quick cuddle whenever they like.  It's a perfect way to introduce your child to learning from other adults and gaining independence at their own pace, knowing you are always there to come back to, while also looking after yourself.

Play to Learn Preschool Circus

Once children are a bit bigger, they are ready for a longer, more structured class, and for more advanced gross motor skills to be introduced.  Preschool Circus classes are for 3-5 year olds and can be combined with either Let's Get Messy! sensory play group, or Crafternoons for 4-5 year olds, to make an extended half-day that promotes school readiness. Parents/ caregivers are welcome to join in, but also to gradually decrease their participation to support their child's development of independence.

Let's Get Messy

Messy play is important for the development of children's sensory processing skills, and is so much fun!   Best of all, we can enjoy cleaning up together afterwatds. Each week, our occupational therapist Isobel Lyall prepares a different sensory exploration activity for the children to get stuck into.  Let's Get Messy is for 18 months-4 year olds.

Crafternoons

Crafternoons are a new activity for children aged 3-4 years (who no longer need a sleep during the day!), including all the benefits of sensory play but with a more defined outcome.  Over the course of a term of classes, we’ll progress from very simple activities with play-based process and open outcomes, toward following a more structured process to achieve an outcome that is more defined, while still allowing lots of avenues for creative exploration and individual expression.
