Masterclasses
Our masterclasses are intensive sessions to enable in-depth exploration of a specific area of skill development. We program our masterclasses in areas of arts practice which supplement our regular classes, extend a skill area, add new dimensions to existing skills, develop performance skills to technical circus disciplines, or build other skills to promote artistic excellence. Masterclasses are designed for advanced students, emerging artists or professional performers, so if you're not sure if a masterclass is right for you, please email us so we can help you decide.
Aerial Silks with Dan Power

Dan Power is an internationally acclaimed performer and trainer, and has won multiple national and international awards. He performed aerial silks in 970 shows for Cirque du Soleil, and was aerials trainer at the National Institute of Circus Arts for seven years.
Now living back in his home town, Geraldton WA, Dan has created Midwest Acrobatic and Arts Studio. We are honoured to host Dan for these masterclasses.
Double trapeze
with Bonnie Blewitt

Bonnie Blewitt is a senior circus trainer at CirQuest and has travelled internationally gathering skills in social circus and aerial disciplines. She specialised in doubles aerial (cradle) at NICA and is delighted to offer this special masterclass.
This class is suitable for both kids and adults, as it is helpful to have people of all sizes for doubles trapeze. Intermediate to advanced trapeze experience is necessary before learning double trapeze.

Nat Kell is a Fremantle native who has returned with his family after an amazing international career. He was a core performer in Circus Oz and a stunt man for film and TV. Nat combines his martial arts, capoeira, parkour and acrobatics skills into a unique movement vocabulary.
This masterclass is for kids and teens who have excellent foundation skills, aerial awareness and body tension.
Advanced Lyra
with Dan Power

Dan Power is widely recognised as the best aerials trainer Australia has ever produced, and he will be teaching these special masterclasses immediately after he returns from working as a master trainer at the National Training Project at the Flying Fruit Fly Circus.
Dan will focus on advanced lyra skills, including spinning. This class is suitable for students who have trained at the intermediate and advanced level and are ready for an intensive technical session that will inspire and motivate you in your training for weeks and months to come.

Christie-Ann Kidd and Mathew Davies are CirQuest's partner acrobatics experts, and this special masterclass for kids and teens offers an opportunity to focus on this popular favourite discipline.
Many of our kids love partner acrobatics, so we thought you'd love a chance to learn lots of different partner acrobatics skills! Excellent body tension and awareness is necessary, so this class is for advanced acrobatics students only.
Dance Trapeze
with Dawn Pascoe

Dawn Pascoe is a groundbreaking originator of aerial dance, extending and defining the artform through her innovative and evocative performance work.
Dawn's company, Natural Wings, has changed the landscape of circus and physical theatre in Western Australia since it was formed in 2007. This is a very special opportunity to learn from Dawn.
This masterclass is for adults, although teens who are very mature and motivated are welcome.
